Sammy gets car sick on long car rides so it was a bit of a challenge getting there, but once there she was the star of the day. Everyone loves this dog. There are a couple of families interested in adopting her and I am going to have a hard time letting her go. I may have to adopt her myself!</p>
<p align="left">It was a great event for SCSR, several adoption applications are filled out on site. This is a great group of dogs and it won&#8217;t be long until they are all find permanent homes. There are a few more pictures on <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/sets/72157604406417646/" title="SCSR Meet and Greet" target="_blank">Flickr</a>. The dogs were pretty active so it was hard to get good pictures, but be sure to check out this picture of <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2391703067/in/set-72157604406417646/" title="North" target="_blank">North</a>&#8230; don&#8217;t you want to take him home?</p>

<p>On Monday evening I picked up my first &#8220;foster dog&#8221;. Her given name is Samantha, but I have been calling her Sammy or Sam and she seems to be responding. Sammy is a &#8220;Sato&#8221; rescued from Puerto Rico by <a href="http://scsr.petfinder.com" title="Second Chance Sato Rescue" target="_blank">Second Chance Sato Rescue</a> (SCSR) in Temple, NH. Sammy is one of six adorable dogs SCSR currently has available for adoption in New Hampshire.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3208/2382804328_8903d7cc51_m.jpg" title="IMG_1224" alt="IMG_1224" align="right" height="180" hspace="5" vspace="5" width="240" />Sammy is doing great. A little timid in new situations, but she has a wonderfully sweet disposition and is very well behaved. She was fearful of Mojo when they first met but it didn&#8217;t take long for them to warm up to each other. She even tolerates the fact that Mojo thinks Sam&#8217;s wagging tail is his new toy. We are working on &#8220;sit&#8217; and &#8220;come&#8221; and she seems eager to please.</p>
<p>I love this dog!</p>

Harp player, <a href="http://www.minogue.com/" target="_blank">Aine Minogue</a>, played to a packed house. The event was a sell out with about 70 folks attending plus a few volunteers.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2372/2380152246_1516c6b5ef.jpg" title="Aine Minogue Presented by Seacoast Guitar Society" alt="IMG_1198" border="0" height="375" hspace="5" vspace="5" width="500" /></p>
<p>Aine was absolutely wonderful. Her music, voice and story telling had us all mesmerized. Special thanks to Scott and Zoey of the <a href="http://www.oldyork.org/" target="_new">Old York Historical Society</a> for helping to make this happen. And of course Mark AKA Wolf Garcia was there to run sound. Thanks to <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2374085051/" target="_new">Hope and Steve</a> for the delicious chowder and selling cds and raffle tickets. I did my usual ticket sale and <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2380151590/in/set-72157604343993277/" title="Harvey Reid" target="_blank">Harvey</a> made the whole thing happen and opened the show with a couple of tunes on guitar (we are a guitar society you know).</p>
<p>The SGS is looking forward to presenting more concerts here. Next on our calendar is <a href="http://www.michaeljeromebrowne.com/" title="Michael Jerome Brown" target="_blank">Michael Jerome Browne</a> on June 8th. We can&#8217;t wait!!</p>

<p align="left">&nbsp;</p>
<p align="left">I must say that it really was a treat to see the <a href="http://carrollcountymarket.com" title="Carroll County Market" target="_blank">Carroll County Market</a> in person. I have been hearing about and reading about it and updating the website for over a year now, but there is nothing like experiencing it for myself. The food is wonderful, truly the best pulled pork, ribs and steaks you&#8217;ve ever had and an incredibly warm and friendly staff. Special thanks to <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371113170/in/set-72157604301577124/" title="Cecil and Hank on stage at the Carroll County Market" target="_blank">Cecil (folks in Carrollton call him &#8220;Tot&#8221;) and Hank</a>, <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371117280/in/set-72157604306155823/" title="Glenda and Sterling at the Carroll County Market" target="_blank">Glenda and Sterling</a>, Greg and Heather and the rest of the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371131084/in/set-72157604306155823/" title="Carroll County Market Crew" target="_blank">CCM Crew</a> for making me feel so welcome.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2295/2370281821_70ffdb8dca_m.jpg" title="IMG_0970 by ThisIsMADness62, on Flickr" alt="IMG_0970" align="right" height="180" hspace="5" vspace="5" width="240" />Friday night was a blast! A sold out show featuring Wayne &#8220;The Train&#8221; Hancock and a surprise birthday party for Greg Harkins. Wayne put on a great show and we all know now why he is called &#8220;The Train&#8221;&#8230; there is no stopping him.</p>
<p align="left"> After a very late night on Friday, it was great to just hang out with <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2370295921/in/set-72157604301663818/" title="friends" target="_blank">Cecil&#8217;s friends</a> on Saturday afternoon in Carrollton. Greg fixed us a special breakfast including real <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2370295743/in/set-72157604301663818/" title="Greg fixin biscuits." target="_blank">homemade biscuits</a>. We spent hours lounging on the porch. I think I was even able to sneak in a nap.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3026/2371131344_6235d5f8af_m.jpg" title="IMG_0990" alt="IMG_0990" align="right" height="180" hspace="5" vspace="5" width="240" /></p>
<p>Other highlights from the trip were visiting the Mississippi John Hurt Museum and grave site, a brief tour of Clarksdale with stops at <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371132846/in/set-72157604306705109/" title="The Crossroads - Clarksdale, MS" target="_blank">the Crossroads</a> and <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2370297657/in/set-72157604306705109/" title="The Shack Up Inn - Clarksdale, MS" target="_blank">Shack Up Inn</a>.</p>

<p>Cecil was an excellent tour guide. We took a little road trip on Monday drove from Carrollton to Natchez with stops in a <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371133702/in/set-72157604302262438/" title="Cane" target="_blank">cane field</a> and a <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371134238/in/set-72157604302262438/" title="roadside church" target="_blank">crazy roadside church</a> and Vicksburg. I enjoyed walking around Vicksburg where we stopped at funky art store and lunch at Borello&#8217;s. I highly recommend the steak bites appetizer!<img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3286/2370299365_677938539d_m.jpg" title="IMG_1119 by ThisIsMADness62, on Flickr" alt="IMG_1119" height="240" width="180" /></p>
<p>On Tuesday, we took a scenic drive along the Natchez Trace with a stop at <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/2371135472/in/set-72157604302262438/" title="Rocky Springs" target="_blank">Rocky Springs</a>. We took the Trace back to Jackson where I caught my plane and headed home.</p>
<p>A very enjoyable trip indeed! Thanks again Cecil! Perhaps I should rename this post &#8230; Mr Sippy You&#8217;re On My Mind.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget if you want to see more &#8230; <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marisad/collections/72157604301352384/" title="Marisa's Flickr Collection of MS Pictures" target="_blank">all my pictures are here</a>.</p>
